Went a a quick walk through the Rose Lake Wildlife Area with a friend this afternoon before work. It was refreshing getting out into the woods for a bit today getting some tranquility. Shot some macro of the beautiful fungus along the trail.


Last Wednesday for Investigative Environmental Journalism we conducted a survey of macro invertebrates in the Red Cedar River. This is a simple test you can do to determine water quality in a river.
Certain creatures can't live in polluted water so if you can find them then that tells you that the water quality is generally good, if these creatures are absent then that tells you that some form of pollution is preventing them from living there. More on that
